My Travels Word Puzzle — a mobile game by ClarksFlight

The short version

There is no sign-up. We do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location.
Your game progress is saved on your own device, not on a server.
The game shows a small banner ad at the bottom of the screen, and optional rewarded videos you can choose to watch in exchange for a hint. Both are served through Google AdMob. To serve and measure them, Google receives your advertising ID, IP address, device information, and basic app-interaction and performance data.
You can choose non-personalized ads inside the game, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings at any time.
The game is not directed at children under 13.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the mobile application My Travels Word Puzzle ("the app," "the game") for iOS and Android, published by ClarksFlight ("we," "us"). It does not cover the clarksflight.com website, which has its own policy, or any third-party service you reach by leaving the app.

2. Information we do not collect

We do not ask for, collect, or store any of the following:

Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address
Account credentials — the game has no accounts and no login
GPS or precise location data
Photos, contacts, microphone, or camera access — the app does not request these permissions
Payment information — the app contains no in-app purchases

The photographs used as level backgrounds and chapter artwork were taken by us and are stripped of their embedded EXIF and GPS metadata before being included in the app.

3. Information stored on your device

The game saves your progress — the level you have reached, your hint count, sound and music settings — using your device's standard local app storage. This information stays on your device. We cannot read it, and it is not transmitted to us or to anyone else.

Deleting the app removes this data. Depending on your device settings, your operating system may include it in your own encrypted device backup, which is under your control, not ours.

4. Advertising

The app is free and is supported by advertising. There are two kinds, both served by Google AdMob, a Google service:

A banner ad — a small strip along the bottom of the screen while you play. It appears on its own; you do not have to do anything to see it.
Rewarded videos — a short video you may choose to watch in exchange for a hint. These only play if you ask for one.

There are no full-screen ads that interrupt play, and no ads between levels.

To select and measure ads, Google may collect and process information such as:

Device and account identifiers — the Advertising ID on Android or the IDFA on iOS, the Android app set ID, and where applicable identifiers tied to accounts signed in on the device
IP address, which gives an approximate location such as a city or country — never a precise one
Interactions with the app, including app launches, taps, and video views
Diagnostic information about how the app and the ad software are performing, such as launch time, hang rate, and energy use
Device information such as model, operating system version, language, and general region

Google uses this for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. It is collected by Google's software running inside the app and sent to Google — we do not receive it, and we cannot see what any individual person does in the game.

This information is handled by Google under its own privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy. How Google uses data from apps that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your choices about ads

Inside the game. Where the law requires it — for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom — you are asked on first launch whether you consent to personalized ads, and you can decline. If you decline, the app requests non-personalized ads instead. You will still see ads, but they will not be selected based on your ad profile.
On iOS. If the app asks for permission to track, you may decline. You can also change this later under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and limit ad tracking entirely under Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
On Android. Go to Settings → Google → Ads to reset or delete your advertising ID, or to opt out of ad personalization.

5. Analytics

We have not added any analytics or crash-reporting software of our own. There is no service reporting back to us about which levels you reach, how long you play, or where you stop. We could not look up your play history if we wanted to.

Google's advertising software does collect analytics and diagnostic data for its own purposes, as described in section 4. That data goes to Google, not to us, and we see only anonymous, aggregate figures — total ad views and estimated earnings — which cannot identify anyone.

Aggregate download and crash figures supplied to us by the App Store and Google Play come from those platforms under their own policies and likewise do not identify you.

6. Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact clarksflight@gmail.com and we will act on it promptly.

7. Your rights

Because the app has no accounts and we hold no personal data about you on our own systems, there is generally no account for us to access, correct, or delete. Requests concerning advertising data are best directed to Google, which controls it.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and portability under the GDPR. Where personalized advertising is used, our legal basis is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time using the choices described in section 4.

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information. Choosing non-personalized ads exercises your right to opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising.

8. Data retention and transfers

We retain no personal data of our own, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Data processed by Google for advertising is retained according to Google's policies. Google operates globally, so that data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, under the safeguards described in Google's privacy policy.

9. Security

Since the app stores nothing about you on a server, there is no account database to breach. Data transmitted between the app and Google's ad services is encrypted in transit by Google's SDK.

10. Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects this policy — for example if analytics or a new ad network were added — this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be reflected here before the new version of the app is released.
